Siebel Gateway Server Installation


Navigate to SIEBEL_INSTALL_IMAGE_782\7.8.2.0\Windows\Server\Siebel_Enterprise_Server.

Double-click setup.exe.

Click Next.

To install the Siebel Enterprise Server software in a new instance, select None as the default and click Next.

Select the directory in which you want to install Siebel Enterprise Server and click Next.

Choose the Siebel Gateway Name Server and click Next.

Choose the type of installation to execute from the following options and click Next.

Select the language or languages you want to install or add and click Next.

Click Next to accept the default folder name, or modify the folder name as desired and click Next.

The installer displays the location into which it will install the Siebel Gateway Name Server and any other servers you have elected to install, and also the disk space required for the software you are installing. Click Next to continue or Back to adjust the values.

The installer proceeds to install the specified files.

A message appears, stating that language files are being installed."

"Select one of the following options to continue:

■ Continue with configuring the Siebel Gateway Name Server. For detailed instructions, see

“Configuring the Siebel Gateway Name Server” on page 89.

■ Close out of the Siebel Software Configuration Wizard and configure later. In this case, the

installer displays the following message; however, note that you cannot operate the Siebel

Gateway Name Server until it is configured:

The InstallShield Wizard has successfully installed the Siebel Enterprise Server.

Click Finish to exit the Wizard."

To complete the installation process, click Finish.

If necessary, start the Siebel Software Configuration Wizard.

"On the Windows User Account screen, type the following information, and click Next.

Windows User Account. Type the Windows user account name, preceded by the domain name and a backslash; for example, HQ\username. (This value should be the account name created to run this service.) If the account is a local account, specify the machine name instead of the domain name.

Windows User Account Password. Type the password for the Windows account you specified.

Windows User Account Password (confirm). Retype the password to confirm it.

NOTE: If this account does not have Service Owner privileges, the configuration wizard prompts

you to add them. In this case, click OK and the utility adds the privileges automatically.

The Gateway Name Server Listening Port screen appears."

"Accept the default port number on which the Siebel Gateway Name Server should listen (2320), or type an alternate port number (if 2320 is used by another application), and click Next."

"Configure the Siebel Gateway Name Server service (gtwyns):

■ Click Next to accept the default setting to start the Siebel Gateway Name Server automatically whenever the Windows operating system starts up."

"Configure the Siebel Gateway Name Server service:

■ Click Next to accept the default to start the Siebel Gateway Name Server now (after

configuration is complete)."

"Click Next to review the configuration values you entered on the previous Configuration Wizard

screens. If you are satisfied, click Finish."

Click OK.

Click Finish.
