Web Server Extensions 7.8.2 Installation:
1 "Before installing SWSE, You must have installed all key Siebel Enterprise Server components, including the Siebel
Gateway Name Server, at least one Siebel Server, and the Siebel Database Server. Application
Object Manager components must be enabled for the Siebel applications you purchased."
2 "Make sure that the user running the SWSE plug-in has read, write, and execute permissions on the
SWSE_ROOT directory and its subdirectories (where SWSE_ROOT is the directory in which the SWSE
is installed). On Windows, you must grant these permissions to the IWAM and IUSR user accounts."
3 Incase of Web server is not installed already, Install, Configure and Start Microsoft IIS from your operating system using Add/Remove Programs on machine where your Extensions will reside
4 Log on as the OS administrator.
5 Navigate to SIEBEL_INSTALL_IMAGE_782\7.8.2.0\Windows\Server\Siebel_Web_Server_Extension.
6 Double-click setup.exe.
7 Click Next.
8 To install a new instance of the SWSE software, select None (the default) and click Next.
9 "Confirm the default installation directory or specify a different one, and click Next.
The default SWSE installation directory is C:\sea78\SWEApp."
10 Select the Language Pack or packs you are installing for the SWSE and click Next.
11 "On the Program Folder screen, click Next to accept the default program shortcut or modify the
program folder name to a desired name and then click Next."
12 "Select one of the following options to continue:
■ Continue with configuring SWSE.
■ Close out of the SWSE Configuration Wizard and configure later. If you choose to close out
of the wizard and configure later, the installer displays the message:
The InstallShield Wizard has successfully installed Siebel Web Server. Choose
Finish to exit the Wizard."
13 Click Finish.
14 If you closed out of the SWSE Configuration Wizard after installation, relaunch it.
15 Select the desired load-balancing method for your environment and click Next.
16 "Enter the hostname for the Siebel Server and the port number (default 2321) for the SCBroker
(Siebel Connection Broker) component. Click Next."
17 Enter the name of your Enterprise Server and click Next.
18 "Select the encryption type the Siebel Web Clients should use to communicate with the Application
Object Managers and click Next:
MSCRYPTO.,NONE., or RSA."
19 "Select the type of compression you want to use for communications between the SWSE and the
Siebel Servers, and click Next:
None

20 "Enter the port numbers for HTTP and HTTPS, and click Next:
HTTP Port Number. Type the HTTP port number used for Web browser communications, or
accept the default setting used by the Web server (80).
HTTPS Port Number. Type the HTTPS port number used for secure Web browser connections,
or accept the default setting used by the Web server (443)."
21 "On the Employee’s Anonymous Login Name screen, indicate the following, and then click Next:
Employee’s Anonymous Login Name.,Employee’s Anonymous Login Password.,Employee’s Anonymous Login Password (confirm)."
22 "On the Contact Login User Name screen, indicate the following, and then click Next:
Contact Login User Name.,Contact Login Password.,Contact Login Password (confirm)."
23 "Enter the Web Update Protection key that your administrator will use for updating files on the
SWSE and click Next."
24 Review the values for accuracy.
25 Click OK.
26 Review installation directories in \Web\ADMIN, BIN, ISSRUN, LOCALE, LOG, PUBLIC, etc. Also review eapps.cfg in BIN directory
